I hold a B.A. in Psychology, a Bachelor of Fine Arts and an M.A. in Creatives Arts Therapies.  I am currently working towards a Doctoral Degree (Ed.D) with a research focus in distance Clinical Supervision practices. I am also working towards certification as a Somatic Experiencing trauma practitioner with the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute.  


I have completed graduate level or professional training in the following areas:


  • first stage trauma treatment
  • critical incident stress debriefing 
  • complex trauma and dissociation in childhood 
  • couples therapy 
  • digital and cyber ethics
  • clinical supervision
  • rural mental health 
  • art therapy
  • sandplay therapy and
  • transcultural psychiatry

 

In addition to individual therapeutic work I am involved with pan-Canadian projects that are advancing counsellor regulation across the country.  I teach counselling and art therapy for several post-graduate programs in Canada. 


Outside of work, I strive to bring balance to my life through my artistic practise as a painter.  I usually show work in galleries on a bi-annual basis.
